Good luck for the MoT Charles - not a bad price i suppose considering they can be fiddly to strip down!
Still thinking about the Legend wishbones, got a 5% discount voucher to use with Rock Auto but i still have to pay 95% of the price plus S&H to the UK (or P&P as we call it! ) so will have to wait a while.
Winter is a-coming and so will the oil-man be at some point in the near-ish future with a minimum of 500L of heating oil - that all sounds good until he wants paying!
I'll keep an eye on their prices though, sometimes they have flash-sales and similar so i might get a bargain yet!

My next job will be checking out those rotten fuel filler pipes..see if they can be effectively repaired. Fortunately, I do have an excellent spare in my storage.

Reckon your best bet is to get the spare, check it out, wire brush and paint it (or better still, electrolytically derust it then paint it), waxoyl it (or similar, there are lots of different treatments on the market these days) and fit that as a straight swap. Be careful when you do, the small ends are two different sizes, one pair of each size on each big loop - the loops are also different so again, be careful!
Once it's all painted/protected and fitted, then look at the corroded one to see if it's savable.
I used a boat-deck filler (stainless steel) on my Coupé with some marine fuel hose, i doubt that will ever rot! Other options are also available, there's a guy that was one here and is also on ebay remanufactures them from a Land Rover filler neck i think and selling them for something like £170 but if you can save the one that's on there (after fitting your spare) by electrolytic derusting/cleaning then paint and preserve it for another rainy day, you should be well set up.

Congratulations! The feeling when our old, vintage, Classic, or whatever we call them - fantastic cars pass is hard for the outsider to understand!
I fixed my filler neck with some Rotary steel wire brush, locating the tin worm holes and then filling them up with some soldering tin (the harder stuff, in Swedish ”silver soldering tin” if it makes any sense) and a torch. Then paint, and thorough rust protection. Still have a surge when unscrewing the lid!

Thanks guys Quite relieved that was the only big job for the MOT and equally relieved that the car is safe and roadworthy. I've been putting on the miles these past few days but I have better peace of mind that all is well with the brakes and having a years ticket.
One thing that has been bothering me is the clutch biting point. So my other plans are to replace both the clutch master cylinder and the clutch slave cylinder. I've had the car 5 years and I've noticed the clutch operation getting worse. I already had the clutch itself replaced a few years ago. This has had little improvement to be quite honest. So I think those other two components wouldn't go amiss either.
The last thing I want is to be stranded like I was with the Mk1 due to a broken slave cylinder.
I've bought one of the last remaining clutch master cylinders on eBay tonight. Not bad value; works out to be around £90 less than Rimmers too (inc postage)

Should sort the clutch at last Charles - apparently they can be awkward to bleed successfully, the damper causes some of the problems i believe.

Replaced the Bosch wiper blades with the same type blades this morning.
Quick and easy job, and has been needed doing. The old blades were going past 3 years old and the nearside wiper was not clearing effectively. Should the new pair last as long, then for me its worth the money (expensive they might be)and they have good user reviews which I think is helpful when making any purchase.

I've seen so many reviews on wiper blades and different life expectancy figures!
Some of the best have been on Denso blades. Again, not cheap but very good.
I've recently fitted these to my Sterling after recieving a pair by accident when i ordered some "normal" ones for my Volvo. Both cars are running 20" blades so it was a fair comparison and that was why i bought them for the Sterling too. So far, very impressed with them but that said, i was impressed with the £4/pair Wilko 20" "old skool" style blades when i first fitted them 5 years ago!
They did well, lasting that long and passed the MoT this year even - they started to smear slightly once the weather warmed up.
