Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
If you have an MG-TF and retro-fit the later one complete with servo, it will fit. That is only for the MG though.
The master cylinder is the only part that is shared so if you only ordered the master cylinder SJC10007 and they supplied the M/Cyl and servo as an assembly, they've got it wrong.
According tho that link i posted just now with the various different M/Cyls, Rimmers are out of stock of the SJC10007 but expect some soon and their price is £236.66 inc VAT - hopefully your supplier will do something with that price to reflect the inconvenience they've caused you when you ordered what you needed, not what they thought would fit.

Yes this is my thinking as well on the master cylinder. Obviously what I have won't fit because not only did they supply the master with the servo, but the master cylinder part is completely different to the one on my coupe. The Rimmer's one you pointed me to does look very much the correct part.scoobyh123 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 8:59 pmIf you have an MG-TF and retro-fit the later one complete with servo, it will fit. And yes I think the supplier just sent me the part assuming it would fit without them knowing what car it is actually for.

Certainly sounds that way - the part number should have been a clue though. Did you have to send your reg number through?

No I wasn't asked which is odd you might think. Since the first time I spoke on the phone, it has been hard to get back through by calling, so I had to send an eBay message for a refund, to which I had the reply that I will be refunded.scoobyh123 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 14, 2018 9:15 pmCertainly sounds that way - the part number should have been a clue though. So I'll return the part on Saturday morning at the post office.

It's behaviour like that from suppliers that make you feel like not sending it back even when you get the refund!
Hope you get the refund without any problems!

So the master cylinder was returned this morning.
And the new rear hub will be with me on Monday. Seemed to have waited long enough for it!
I'm almost excited!

I got the car back on Thursday, (not all these jobs done yet) though I say however, the brakes are feeling better.
So whatever was done with the front sensors has helped and I need to find out more details of the work involved. I'll have to ask to have the brake fluid changed because the master cylinder was originally supposed to have been replaced before changing fluid.
While the car was there I had the fuel filter and the gear box oil changed. I decided to have the gearbox oil changed now, because I had the same thing done to all the few other 827s of mine and I felt a slight improvement afterwards..as has been the same now with this Coupe since driving about again.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the original oil from new, and since there is no history in that respect; it's as well to have had it changed with new oil now.

Sounds like some good progress has been made despite the odds Charles!
Good call on the gearbox oil, usually something that is ignored until it's too late!

Yep. It's a good Japanese TIMKEN replacement with a warranty. Should last the life of the car!

Re: Charles' early 92 827 manual coupe
You may notice the two holes in the hub. Am I right in reconing one is for the wheel speed sensor and the other for the abs sensor? I don't know if there is one or two sensors per hub.scoobyh123 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 19, 2018 8:31 pmCertainly should and the bearing is pre-fitted as well! Bonus!
