Welcome anytime Jez :)

I dropped and re-fitted the petrol tank today due to the return pipe being corroded and leaking, i simply did away with the metal pipe that runs along the top and side of the tank and fitted some 8mm fuel hose from the connection on top of the fuel pump (changed that previously due to it not working) down the side of the tank into the flared metal pipe.

Also gave the tank two coats of paint, which dried super quick in the sunshine!

I'll paint the filler pipe which is solid, with por15 soon.

Well now you've had some practice Andy.................

Seriously though, sounds like both you and Jez had really productive days!

That 8mm fuel hose is much easier to use than trying to replace the steel pipe, it's connected to the tank with 8mm fuel hose anyway which seems a bit silly to not use it all the way through.

Just for reference, if that elbow union on the fuel feed side (in the wheelarch, hidden with a plastic cover) leaks, a 500mm length of 8mm bore fuel hose will reach from the banjo on the tank (cut the crimp collar off, remove old length of fuel hose linking to the steel pipe) to a few inches forward of that elbow union so can be done in one go if necessary without dropping the tank as well. :D
Cheers,
Dave

Cheers for the info Dave :)

I joined the feed pipe in the middle of the Rovor with 8mm fuel hose, i very slightly flared each end of the pipes, pushed the hose over and used proper fuel clamps (required by IVA) to secure the hose.

You're welcome Andy - it's the sort of silly stuff that sticks in my mind when i've had to it!

The other option was a pair of joiners and some 8mm copper LPG pipe but decided the rubber would be easier. Also less likely to corrode again. :D
Cheers,
Dave
