Excellent news Andy! :D

Has it got a "real" registration number or have they insisted on a "Q" plate?
Cheers,
Dave

Q plate, but it's not got the stigma of old times as it's needs to go through and pass an IVA to be given a Q plate if the date of the parts used can't be confirmed.

I bet you'll get a few confused coppers querying you as to why you have a yellow plate on the "front" of the car !  :D

Awesome feeling driving it :D

I emailed Yasu a couple of times but he never replied, may have gone to spam filter, when DVLA phoned me to ask what i wanted to call the car i then phoned Yasu to let him know that it was finally going to be road legal! He was really happy to hear that, surprised even at how quickly i had done it :) Asked if i was going to take it to some car shows.

Yasu is a truly nice man.

You'd probably be interested to know I've got the welder that built that, and its what I used to fit the sill to my Gold Coupé

:)

That's pretty awesome :D

Decided to replace the spark plug leads (got the same leads for the Sterling, yet to fit them).

I swapped in some grey leads i had to replace the original leads but bought some Kem parts leads from Rockauto, all of ~£14 :D

I could have bought red to make it look oem, but yellow is my favourite colour 8)

Nice one Andy! I made a set ofr my Sterling using blue Ferroflex 8mm leads - that doesn't look OEM but fits with the general theme and still looks good. :D
Cheers,
Dave

I'll see what they look like on the Sterling, i've painted centre cover blue so it might look good yellow on blue?

Should do Andy!

I painted my plenum cover gold on the Coupé - it was a trial run, going to do the job properly with the original later. Probably do similar with the Sterling one or maybe the silver version instead which is like chrome.

Image

Planning something on the rocker covers as well but can't make my mind up yet. :D
Cheers,
Dave

I thought about spraying mine the colour it was originally which looks like gold but isn't going by your photo. Blue sort of matches the blue body work paint.

They're both gold Andy, just different shades. This is the gold i used on mine :

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rust-Oleum-B ... Sw57xaexoV

Bought it in my local Wilko/Wilkinsons, they do a silver (which is sort of chrome like) as well.

I'm thinking of doing the rocker covers as well, first some VHT primer followed by several coats of gloss black and a couple of coats of the shiny stuff then when it's dried rub the ribs on the rocker cover with a sanding block so the ribs turn gloss black.
Cheers,
Dave

Wired the rear clocks up to the front. So now people in the rear can see illumination, rev counter and speedo :D

Perfect for nervous back-seat drivers!

Have you seen the most recent Practical Classics Andy? It's got the guy who built the double-ended 75 in it and a couple of his other creations, a 75 Pick-Up and the one the feature is about, his creation of the Rover 75 Coupé and a very nice job he's made of it too!

Would be great to get yours and his side by side - that would cause a few neck aches!  :D
Cheers,
Dave
