Seems the motor for the sunroof is shot. Nothing when We feed it 12v through the multiplug. But there is no resistance when using an Ohmmeter through the plug so a bit strange really?
I don’t think I will investigate it further. The sunroof is nice But not necessary.

No resistance as in zero Ohms or open circuit Henrik?Manalishi wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 6:41 pmSeems the motor for the sunroof is shot. Nothing when We feed it 12v through the multiplug. But there is no resistance when using an Ohmmeter through the plug so a bit strange really?

Might pay to try moving it manually with the slot provided then remeasure and retest with the direct feed. I might (but not sure) have a spare sunroof motor, i think they were all the same over the years.

Not sure Dave, but with the probes in the multiplug I read 0.00 Ohm. Not sure What open circuit means.
I don’t have the tool to wind the motor, I presume this is where I do it?

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
That's the slot Henrik, yes. Sometimes inside the sunroof motor cover the tool lives there or is in the other tool kit for the car.
If not, a wide flat screwdriver should work.
Easiest way of explaining a short circuit and an open circuit is for you to find a switch, any switch with just two terminals on it. Connect your multimeter on resistance to those two terminals. With the switch on or closed, you will get a short circuit (zero Ohms) and with the switch off or open, you will get "1____" displayed on your meter indicating over-range which in this case is infinite resistance or an open circuit.
I'm guessing you've already checked the sunroof fuse and it's ok?
Have you direct-fed the motor and if so, did it try to move or not?
The fact you had 0.00 Ohms showing on the meter indicates the windings are ok in the motor and so are the brushes. If you can prove that mechincally it's capable of movement by turning it with a screwdriver or similar then hopefully we can "encourage" it to move electrically too then work our way back through to find out where the problem is on the control side, if at all - it might just be the motor is stuck through lack of use.

Sunroof fuse ok. - check, it was after fiddling with the fuse that the switch came to life. (Switch between seats started to click when pushed)
Direct fed on the plug, not the motor per se as I can't easily get to the base of the wires. Not a single sound/click or anything from the motor. I did how ever see that things happen inside the multiplug (car side) when the switch between seats are activated, so probably everything works except the motor itself.
I'll give it a wiggle with a large screw driver but not any more than that. It is really low priority at the moment. The rear stuck window is higher priority, plus the 820 coupe obviously as it needs some tinkering too.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Direct feeding the plug was exactly what i meant Henrik, it's the most convenient part of the motor to get to. If you can get a bit of fore/aft movement on the roof panel by turning the mechanism with a screwdriver there's a good chance you'll get the motor to splutter into life.
I've also replied to your PM about the windows with a couple of ideas, hopefully something there is helpful!

I have no idea how it happened but when i replied to your last PM, it somehow sent it to me instead of you!
Did a "copy & paste" and sent it to you as i thought i originally had so you should have it now!

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Update on the sunroof. No life in it at all but when I started to open it manually by Winding it I could see the rubber trim is loose and a potential leak.
I will leave the sunroof for now, I don’t dare risking any failure and leaks but it’s definately on the list for the future. Now I need to focus on the coupe.

Re: Manalishis Mk 1a 827 Vitesse (manual)
Went for a trip today. Collected the original Vitesse wheels and the beefy ARBs plus a set of second hand droplinks and a brand new set. The struts are front ones from a Vitesse sport and I hope they fit the MK1 and giving about the same height as now.
So now I need to find a set of Vitesse wheel centres..!
Anyone out there got any?

Looks like you had a nice journey and definitely a nice find with those struts Henrik! I certainly haven't got any Vitesse centre caps, i think the ones for the "dog-leg" alloys are unique to them but i may be wrong.
I don't know if those alloys were fitted in the USA but Sterling Fixer may have some centre caps.

Might be worth an email?

About the struts, What do you think of them fitted to the Black Vitesse? I could Probably measure them accurately but you might know? My front right Shock is knackerd acting bike pump so I hope to swap those over, both fronts Obviously.
