I've been busy tarting the car up the last couple of nights.
Sorting silly little jobs on the door cards mostly. Some of the wood was cracked and other bits falling off.
The rear doors use the same as a standard rear door as do the rear quarters which is lucky.
As yet only the front passenger door is finished as the rest is drying.
Here's the door card before. The door card was damaged as well so it's been replaced.
This is it now, I've decided to use late spec wood as I've got loads of that lying around.
Found that the speaker was knackered as well.
So I've replaced that as well. Done the same to the drivers side.
I've pulled the partition out as well. It takes up a lot of room and isn't really of any use to me.
That's caused other problems thouch as bits of trim have been cut to make it fit so I need to replace them now.
While round at my garage last night I pulled out a loose TWR spoiler and offered it up. What do we think? Obviously it's the wrong colour.

And what's the verdict?Richard C wrote:Just caught up with this.
Not a chance in hell of it being gold.Alex Sterling wrote:Paint the car White Gold. You know you want to. GO ON GO ON GO ON GO ON GO ON!!!!!!!!
The spoiler looks a bit, erm, out of place on it, but in a way, suits it. On balance I say DO IT!
How did you get that Sony speaker to fit inside the plastic Mk2 speaker housing by the way?
I won't go on about it but gold is probably my least favourite colour for a car.
My brother has some blue paint lying around so I might at least try it the right colour.
I was given them by my mate Joe from a coupe he bought with them in. TBH the grilles are a little pointless as the speakers would probably have fitted the whole anyway.
They look to be just bonded from the rear.
Thanks for the offer but that colour is not for me. I reckon I'm going to fit some late grey leather. Just need to see if I can get the rear seat to fit.Very Tall Brad wrote:Would you like my mink leather Sterling interior for this limo. I think it'd go well. Swap you for the TWR boot spoiler...

Been away for few days so just seen this
I'd like to see it with full TWR kit, lengthen some sill covers, try sport 17's and paint it black. Re-trim the interior in something subtle like crushed red velvet, oh and dont forget the tints.
Would that partition fit in my Vitesse just been down to London for a few days with the kids, would have been really handy.................

I can't decide how far to take it Shaun. The more I do to this the more it makes finishing the Sterling pointless. Which I don't want to do as I want that to be perfect.
The partition is yours if you want it?
Here's an update then.
The door cards are all finished and back on as well as the wood replaced on the rear quarters. Luckily they used rear door card pieces on there as well as the new rear door cards.
I've fitted a high level centre console and that's hidden the gap in the carpet from the partition nicely.
I couldn't make my mind up whether to fit a MK2 clock or not so did it anyway. Just need to swap the wood on the dash and the instrument pod to match.
Today's jobs included painting the door pillars and tops to match the roof.
Took quite a bit of masking due to the extra windows and pillars.
With some paint on.
I've blacked the roof as well using shoe polish as recommended by a mate of my dads from when he had a Zodiac dorchester.
