More jobs today.

I've added a couple of mini bulkheads in the middle of the trailer to chuck chairs and bits in. I had stuff falling in when other bits were taken out before. So these should keep them in nicely all being well.

Loaded up with a few bits.

Fitted a couple of sidelights on the front as well. They have built in reflectors but I'm in two minds as to whether they stick out too far? Not easy to tell here I know.

Image

Chucked some of my stuff back in. Everything feels better already. More to do in the front yet though.

Chuckng all the stuff in will make up for the lack of weight in the towing vehicle then.

As for the lights, how about some limo running lights on the pillars ?

Yep when I'm towing it makes little difference my car being stripped out.

I am still tempted to get another for towing but even for me I think that's a bit silly.

Not against lights on the side as long as they sit nicely. I am thinking about fitting repeaters but can't decide where they should go?

Lights look OK, but, as you say, bit difficult to really say on the photo. Repeaters might sit nicely on the 'rear' wing, matching the fronts?

Wasn't thinking that far back, though I would have considered putting them over the arch but the fuel flap's in the way.

I would have thought that side repeaters should be reasonably far forward - on the remains of the front door window frame for example.

That may give it a slightly "Dalek" look, though:

I was thinking that far forward as well though on the door under the handle to be somewhere similar to the height on the normal cars.

What about in the space where the half-handle is from the old front door ? maybe you could make something up using clear plastic so it didn't stick out at all.

Not sure that would help the way I want them to be seen. It's basically for people sat in my blindspot to help when I need to pull out.

Done another couple of jobs today. I swapped the rear plinth for a new one and the passenger side rear light. Can't find a drivers one as yet. I know they're somewhere.

New and old plinth. Pretty obvious which is which I'd say?

New and old light.

Fitted up. The trailer's in the garage so not the greatest light for a pic.

Just a quick pic after I've moved the triangle reflectors.

I couldn't come up with a better solution really. I've drilled a hole right where the rubbing strip and bottom half of the bumper meet so it shouldn't be visable once they're removed.

Just a self tapper on each side and they're off for shows etc.

I would have probably screwed them to the rear plinth either side of the number plate-they would disappear in with the red light/plinth mouldings.
Kind Regards

John

That would have damaged the brand new plinth I fitted last week though.

They were fine on the towbar before but I decided to fit an electrics socket so that buggered it up.

At long last the trailer has some rubbing strips on it. It's only taken a year.

Just shown this to my kids, at first they thought it was just photoshop, but once I told them it was real, they said it's "bonkers".

Perfect !
