Well, it's rare for me to keep a car for long enough to put it through two MOTs, but the 827 got tested on Friday and low and behold...

Another pass!

Straight through this time, no bother at all.

Smiles all round.

It's still on loan, I'm just keeping a close eye on its behaviour (and condition).

Might need it back for winter - don't think the MR2 is going to up to another MOT and it's a bit too unpredictable in the wet.

Better tyres I'm sure would help, but most of it is down to over-enthusiasm and lack of skill!

Update time:

I've had this back since February and have been piling on the miles.

It's been behaving itself remarkably well, a couple of niggles along the way:

Brake pads changed - realised that the ones that came off were Green Stuff (not fitted by me), whereas the ones I fitted were Unipart. The brake fade is...noticeable. Hadn't really appreciated until now just how much better those pads were for the occasional thrash through the countryside. Next time around, will change back I think...

Front pipe is a state - it's had a couple of almighty wallops along the way and the front bank pipe is now almost completely crushed. Combined with the now shredded flexi-section, it's time for a change. I have a replacement (courtesy of Chris) but no garage I've spoken to is prepared to take it on! So looks like I'll be trying it myself next time I'm down South where I can get access to a 2 poster. My ramps are useless because the car is too low to get up them!

As detailed in this thread http://www.rover800.info/forum/viewtopi ... 0&start=30, it ended up with a harlequin front end.

After being loaned to my friend, he rattle canned the bumper in BRG (and did reasonable job) and, my favourite, did the bonnet in matt black.
