It really depends where it leaks from. If it's a join, some JB Weld/Chemical Metal may be worth a try.

Its where the plastic side tank is crimped to the main rad.

Sounds like it's not crimped enough and sealing when it warms up and expands. Must be worth trying some waterproof chemical paste stuff.

Been reading that JB Weld is recommended, I might try it.
Also popped to my local breakers yard at lunch time and there was an 820 with steering wheel and rotary coupler hanging off, its looks like it has same wires as mine albeit one extra, maybe for an airbag, don't think it had cruise though, but maybe the coupler may work.

Coupler should work fine for the airbag, might not work with the cruise control though.

I have an 827 sterling one on my vitesse which had an extra connector over my original one for cruise control.

Dont think I cut connector off so might be able to swap if yours doesnt work with cruise.

I tested the continuity of the wires on the new coupler and they all seem good so I'll fit it. Not bad for saying I went to the local scrapper with no tools, one 800 in the yard and the coupler hanging off by the wire.
Good luck or what.

On a side note I love my newly modified exhaust, I've been thrashing it to the redline everywhere just to hear the exhaust at 6000 rpm, I never thought I'd be a fan of the big bore exhaust brigade as I hate noisy exhausts, but its addictive!

Welcome to the club. :D

In my fastback that's the least of the problems noise wise. :D

Same here, I loved it when my 827Si had the big bore exaust on it, too bad it had more holes than swiss cheese, but it still sounded fantastic. I'm thinking of putting a bigger exaust on my Sterling

I fitted my new rotary coupler at lunchtime, a 15min job, now the cruise buttons work as they should. I like an easy fix.

Thats what I like about our Rovers, they do always go wrong but are always easy to fix.

Yeah, but it might help if the parts were not made of blancmange and lasted for more than an few minutes.

Another weekend, another problem solved.
To start, 2 new Track Control Arms complete with new bushes, damn those big tie bar bolts are tight, I used 3 metal bars slotted together and both feet.
Also tested my plug leads as I had an irratic idle problem that was getting worse. Turned out No 4 lead was duff offering no continuity. Front leads should of read 8 ohms, rear leads 15 ohms. I swapped No 4 for a spare and so far so good.

No problem at all putting it back together, took minutes.
I never even undid the driveshaft nut for the job.
It was the threadlock that caused problems getting it apart

I reckon my tiebars must be sport spec and the holes slightly offset.
