Who drives their 800 daily?
Having recently changed jobs, handed back the 50+mpg company crate, resurrected my old 827 that's been off the road since 2005 and pressed it back into daily service I've been having a bit of an adventure....not all of it anticipated
But to be fair other than a new fuel tank and lines it's not been that bad so far and the old girl seems to be settling into her new role as daily transport, at a cost of around 24mpg mind On the upside it is comfy and quick when loud pedal is pressed to shagpile
Who else relies on their 800 and how do you find it day to day?

I have kind of pensioned off my Lexus (it is in the garage waiting for some paint and a few suspension parts) and I have been using a number of 800s daily.
Most recently, I have chanced my arm by using the KV6 Coupe. It drives like a dream. It's a touch cramped for me (as all 800s are) and I am constantly irritated by the alarm/immobiliser. Every time I come to use the car after it's been parked for more than 5 mins, I have to press the unlock button on the plipper. As I never lock my cars anywhere, it's a pain.
However, once on the road, I am starting to enjoy the fact that I am in the minority in using an 'old car'. It's a kind of inverted snobbery the fact that my car cost £300 and has had another £300 spent on it to make it what it is - almost perfect.

Same with my Tickford. Plus, when she's had a wash and a polish and the Sun is out the colour is amazing.

My daily driver is my P6, but the Sterling Coupe is now the back up and I'm using it once or twice a week for my 80 mile round trip. Drives like a dream - nearest thing in a "modern" to P6 waftiness!
Oh - and its the Sterling's turn tomorrow so watch out for me on the M25 between 10 and 12 and then M3 about 7.30 tomorrow morning!

We have had the diesel for about a year and a half and it has the daily driver all the time.

All my 800's are daily drivers, mainly a Mk1c Sterling at the moment as the 820 manual Mk2 is out on loan to the ex wife Long story. The 820 Coupe will be back in service shortly as the Sterling needs further fettling.
The Tomcat is my only car that never seems to be on the road for one reason or another. As said the 25 mpg is a bit of a bummer but I dont travel that far these days. Get looks wherever I go and annoy kids in Corsa's who think their 1.2's can blow away an old man in an old car. 800's are also one of the few cars my missus can stay comfortable in due to her medical condition, anything modern with hard seats and ride and she literally wont be able to walk the next day.
I do have access to an LDV Pilot if working though but if the job aint to dirty I will still take the Sterling.

Yep, thats me. 827 Sterling is hubby's daily drive (although hasn't been for 3 months as he is ill) and the 820 is mine. I am known locally as "The Rover Woman". Could be worse I suppose.

I do approx 300 miles a week in the MK1.
Putting the MK2 back on the road for the winter to keep the MK1 looking good though!

My Mk1 827 was my daily - doing 350+ a week with no bother - until I parked it up a month ago (new car).
I have to say, regular use kept it fresh! Since parked up, I've had to spend a bit more time on it, making sure it stays sharp, whereas in daily use I never had any bother at all.
