In the interests of good taste, I think the carpets should be sacrificed to Guy Fawkes. Yes, they are excellent but you really don't want to put these in another car, surely? I think it best they are burned.

I agree with Kate, please don't swap the carpets in this one! Bolero/cream/claret is too rarely seen and REALLY works in my opinion.

The colour coded carpet is an obscenity.

As was the colour coded (post 96) side rubbing strips and bumper tops on the saloons/fastbacks. Naff and crass. One created by the marketing poofs** rather than the design whizzes.

I've still got the white gold sterling I had when we first met, cream leather with red carpets, so,yes, if you would be good enough to save them, even if it's just the over-mats. I do like to keep the car as original as possible, even if it does look like a Sudanese whore house I may have passed in my distant youth.

Changing the carpets to Grey from Burgundy would still not make this a car I could enjoy driving. A great car to own, for me, but not to drive. If it was auto, it'd be a keeper. But my long legs make it too awkward to operate the clutch and drive it safely.

So, it is for sale if anyone is interested.

To recap:

New wheels (cost £300) and centre caps
New grille
New scuttle
New wiper arms and wiper blades
All side cladding has been removed, cleaned, reattached securely
Oil and filter changed
Burgundy carpets and original overmats are included
New heavy duty battery fitted 2011
Mot til April 2013
131000 miles but fees like 31000.
No tax but can be done by me for the very lucky new owner.
Nearside front wing has a slight dent which is more noticeable now the car is shiny. There is no paint damage and it can be repaired.
Both front wings have been detached by myself so that the rears can be cleaned and cleared of the mud build up which the Coupes are noted for.

The car has 100% original paint. It has never been resprayed or touched up with a spray can. There is NO RUST AT ALL ANYWHERE. The sills are as new.

Everything works but the air con is weak. There are no rattles, no squeaks, no issues at all. The gearbox and clutch are smooth and silent.

The car is 100% standard and there are no modifications.

The car is at home at my place in Worcestershire and is yours for £895 or make an offer.
