Bromley Pageant of Motoring, 14 June (warning: lot of pics)
The Pageant has been going since 1977, when the Council organised it and the first one saw 150 cars. Since then it has been organised by various publications and now is sponsored by Kelsy Publishing, CCW, Footman James et al. This year saw about 3000 cars, bikes, commercials, tractors, and military vehicles on exhibit. With about 100 clubs, 80 trade stands and a large autojumble area and events all day in the arena. It was a great day and weather was brilliant. I'm near enough to go by bus and avoid the hassle of parking, and even worse getting out onto busy roads, so I sent off and arrived as the gates opened.
I hit the pre-war section first (well, it was the nearest)
Stop complaining about cleaning your wheels, and spare a thought for these two owners:
Some Club Stands were '3 Car Stands' and this trio of 'flat heads' were rather nice:
As were these Triumph Roadsters:

My 2nd ever car was a Jowett Javelin. How I regret not having it now:
There was quite a few PA Crestas at the show, but I know this one. It was driven up from the Old Romney area of Kent. Not original colours, but the owner's pride and joy:
Don't laff, this is a pristine example:
The Jaguar Enthusiast's Club had some nice history on their stand:
A nice Mk 3 Sunbeam Talbot:
A nice pair:
I could sell me sell for a 120 like this:

Last but not least:
MG Bs and Cs for as far as the eye could see:
The owner of this A would sell for the right price:
My 1st ever car was a 'sit up and beg':
Couple more Jags for good measure:
Found the Rovers at last. No 800s, but there will be next year:
This sneaked in:
Purists look away!:
I hope this small portion of the pics I took doesn't freeze up your pooter. But what a day! I'll be back

Nice pix there. I went a couple of years ago. I kept meanintg to take the Saloon to the speical 1 make car park, but felt it wasn't quite good enough. The Coupé wil be there next year (Hopefully )

The 'Royal Male' Morris was a custom, didn't get to see the engine Mark.
There was indeed something for everyone Chris, I didn't bother with the vast majoriety of the German, French or Italian machinery. In fact there was a whole row of Ferraris which was totally ignored, but you couldn't get near the British tin.
No P2s I'm afraid John. 95s seemed to be amongst the earliest Rovers on display. I bumped into a neighbour of mine, who has a P5B, and he thought the Rover contingent was missing some notable cars from previous years.
Not sure about the Ford coach. A lot of it did look original, and had a lot of more modern touchs. There was no real info posted on it, but you may be right.
Jowetts have always been a fave of mine, since owning the '53 Javelin. Wonderfully easy to work on, especially removing the engine on my own through the front. The Jupiter was a nice car and I'd have loved to see one again.
