Early Rover 825 in Motor Museum

I recently spent a week in the Lake District and visited the Lakeland Motor Museum in Ulverston. To my surprise one of the first cars I spotted (even before the Delorean) was an early Rover 825i in Silver Leaf. I was so stunned to see it there. Feast your eyes on the pics below. The car does not belong to the museum but is on loan from its owner in the Isle of Man.

Haven't seen an 825i in a while. My dad had a few several years ago. All gone now though.

Personally I've never owned one.

Best stick with the 827s, easier to find the correct parts. As you know mine managed to detonate itself rendering itself useless.

I have tried to buy a couple in the past. Who knows may end up with one at some point.

I wouldnt mind another one myself. But one that works and that actually lasts might be an idea. Would have to be a Sterling though, thats a requirement.

Only if it was no good. I've only scrapped a handful of good cars. The rest were just rubbish.

How do you decided whats good and whats no good? Breaking my 97 Vitesses would be the much much easier and less stressful option, but I would feel very guilty! If it was a standard 800 then I wouldnt so much, but being the Vitty Sport seems like a waste of potential future classic?

Condition, work required plus other things.

Very often it's obvious by the way they're being sold and/or how much they fetch.

As with all cars/things it's survival of the fittest. Obviously with enough time and money all cars can be fixed. Knowing where the line is decides their future usually IMO.
