I've only just got back from my interview this morning (3 hours long!) I had to wake up at 6:45

Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday, it was a fab day despite the weather. Thanks especially to Kate for bringing the Met 827 and to Brian for organising the whole thing.

Nice to put a few more names to faces.

Oh I showed my flatmates the pictures and one of them said "Oh my God, someone else actually drives one of those" meaning the 800 as she had never seen one before!

Oh and guess who I met on the M1 on the way back;

When Chris and I went around the M25 Saturday morning in nice sunshine the amount of people taking photo's of that trailer was rediculous, I had the 800 cam running so will take a look at the footage later. Hopefully it will show some of the people's reaction as well as the Volvo XC90 which drifted in front of me.

It really is surprising so many people are interested in it.

I need to work on the rear suspension to raise the car a little though. I might put standard springs on the rear or some assisters on it.

I can vouch for rubber coil inserts - they're doing a nice job on the Alfa.

Would just like to thank Brian for organising the whole thing and giving us a cup of tea when we turned up in a Rover mug.
Phil for the food (bit of bartering going on 1 sticker for a sausage roll bargain)
Chris for bringing enough camping equipment to equip a polar expedition
(that gazebo was worth its weight in gold)
and all those who attended for making the effort with there flagships.

We looked like a club with all our flags and banners.
Might try and get to cars in the park if I can get the time off.

All the police vehicles belonging to the historic fleet can be found on the police thread under 'Police 800s'

Does anyone know if I can get a programme as a keep sake?

And of course a big thank you to Susie for letting me use her computer or none of this would have been possible for me in the first place.

A top day which I'm still smiling about now.

It was really nice to meet all you guys, putting faces to names etc, and I must say thank you all for attending and making the effort to travel and get there on time. Even if I had to wake up the campers, except Rich C, and get them to move their tents to make way for the cars

I so wish I had my camera to hand when Phil popped outta his tent after I blasted my car horn and shouted. His face was a picture of panic mixed with 'where am I and what was that noise ffs'

Weather can't be controlled, unfortunately, but, I'm sure, next year will be better. Looking forward to more meets in the future.

I have emailed the organisors about the commemorative plaques and the souvenir programmes that we should all have received. I also made complaints about the 'gate stewards' and lack of helpfulness, compared to what I have experienced in the past. Will let you all know the reply when it comes.
