From a distance, in half light ALL cars look good.
I washed it wednesday, gave it a wipe down after arrival yesterday and then polished the glass and blacked the tyres and black plastic trim bits. That's all!
Mo - you don't need a sporty Rover to join the RSR, the name comes from when it was a one-model club for a particular pre-war model. Now, anything with a Rover badge (including Land/Range Rovers) is welcome. Many members have a modern one for daily use as well as a classic. For me, they're one and the same.
That said, most Rovers are sporty, aren't they (apart from the bubble 211 and any 825 fitted with a KV3 engine)?

Spot on - give yourself 10 points (not pints).Vard66 wrote:Is that alluding to the idea that they eat HGs so frequently that you can only count on three cylinders being available for use at any one time?

A massive show that is impossible to see in a day.
So what took my fancy at the NEC.
For sale, all the hard work done. £9k
This for me was the paint finish of the show.
The reflection was like looking in a mirror and not a single blemish
This was the car I would have taken home if I could
Fablon wood
Works Sunbeam Tiger
What an awful colour but the condition was superb
I love the Wesminster, but something didn't look right with this 105 VDP
No less than 6 forests were damaged in the making of this vehicle

They were but I can't help regarding them as too "everyday" to be of any great attraction to me. Apparently, my car attracted a lot of comment - it was the only one in the show, of course! Paul Williams from the RSR said they'd even had an offer to buy it - but they didn't have change from a tenner (cheeky sod).Mark827 wrote:Also the Rover 200 Coupes struck me as being very nice close up.
I loved the convertible Daimler prototype and there were loads of great looking Vivas, Victors and so on. I also find myself oddly drawn to Hillman Avengers at the moment (but I'm sure it will pass). Basically, I'm being drawn to cars from my childhood - the same reason that John Turner was very taken by the Model T Fords!
The XJ40 coupe is a fully road legal V12 model and as for the Daimler convertible, whilst it was built as a styling exercise with no engine, gearbox or electrics it has now been retro fitted with all that.
Hmmmmmmmmm.................XJ40 coupe - perhaps I need to get the angle grinder and welder out!

No problem Richard. Glad I managed to see you yesterday, albeit a bit rushed. I did like the model T's....Oh memories of a slower pace of liferichard moss wrote:John - I hope you don't mind, but I've cross posted a couple of your pics onto a Jaguar forum (because they're better than mine!).
