Rover 800 club polo shirts part 2 you know you want one

Post by TDHFastback » Mon Jan 24, 2011 9:27 pm

Hello everyone
Been making a few enquiries with a local firm about the polo shirts who has done work for our rider training scheme as well as a friends stone mason business and the quality is very good.

The chest logo will look like this

Image

and will sit on the left breast.

On the right sleeve will be a Union Jack (we are the flagship after all  )

Image

Not sure about this so would like comments. Left sleeve this

Image

The OC I think should be smaller if we go for it.

and across the back. This....

Image

If you want your name on the right breast it will be an extra £4.99.

Price for shirt as it is approx £35

Colours of shirt can be white, silver, sky blue, navy ,black or charcoal.

With a set up fee for the embroiderry work this will cost me just over £50. which I am willing to put up if there is enough interest.

Would like your views please guys. I think it looks good. Only downside they don't do them in pink.

Kate :D

Very classy and smart. The price is a bit on the high side but there again, I suppose you get what you pay for. :D

Personally I'd rather not have the big logo across the back - it makes me think of fat blokes in replica football shirts. I'm also not 100% sure about the "Owners Club" bit - we're strictly speaking not an OC (yet).

Otherwise, great work :)

Thanks for the imput
Nothing has been finalised yet in the design. To have your name on the right breast will cost an extra £4.99 but this will be offset by losing the 800oc off the left arm.

How about if we lost the logo across the back (which is quite expensive) and put the forum details on the left sleeve and Preserving Rovers flagship over the top of the rover badge on the chest?

I could get a design for this? It would also bring the cost down to about £25 to £30

What do you think

I would be happy with just the badge and the Union Jack-I dont think the rest is needed TBH. Anything to bring the price down would be welcome.

Oh, and are we doing anything about forming a proper Owners Club ? Is there enough interest?

I also think that Kate shouldn't be bearing the setup costs alone. If we go ahead, I will put £10 towards the setup-anyone else ?
Kind Regards

John

Agreed - simple and discrete.

The jury is still out on that one. I'm not really an "Owners Club" sort of person - I've yet to find one that's worth the membership fee, if I'm honest.

Agreed again. Full payment up front before ordering, too.

I agree that it should be very simple.....sometimes less is more and all that. Maybe rather then the years under the logo you could just have 'rover800.info' (without the www to make it fit better)? I think that the only other thing it needs is the Union Jack but I would drop the 800 OC and 'preserving.....' bit.

Just my opinion!

For me, the information and tagline above or in fact, perhaps just below the union flag on the right sleeve shoulder, and just the logo on the left breast will be enough. A large logo across the back is too much.

I'd be game for a polo shirt as above.

*Edit*

In black.

*Edit*

Looking again, I'm really not sure about the green in the logo - if it need b there at all, perhaps red inside the outside silver outline?

Amendments

Post by TDHFastback » Thu Jan 27, 2011 5:53 pm

Thanks guys.

I have contacted the firm and asked for amended designs.

The logo across the back has been deleted.
The 800 OC from the left sleeve has been deleted (was never sure about that)
The dates under the badge have been deleted.

The green border in the badge to be deleted (i think this was a part of the sticker back ground and just got carried over)

In their place under the badge hopefully in a circular fashion the words "Preserving Rovers flagship" I know some of you weren't sure about this but it ties in with the stickers and is almost like a motto. It is after all what the club (oops sorry Richard) forum does. Keeps 800s alive. I think we should be proud of that.

The Union Jack stays on the right arm.

And the option to have your real name/ forum name on the right breast if you so desire. (for £4.99)

These amendmends will bring the price down (the logo across the back was expensive) which is also a concern expressed by you.

i will wait to see what they provide and post it up when they arrive

Thanks
Kate :D

I think that the best thing to do now is NOT put in any orders but wait until Kate's supplier gets back with final prices. Then we can start a (separate) order thread and arrange payment.
