Looks really good Brad. What a bargain!

I do hope you have better luck with it than Sue did with hers...it certainly looks tidier than hers did.

Sue loved hers and was gutted to let it go but I just couldnt afford to risk keeping maintaining it.

Nov 09 - cost £288
Dec 09 - 2x ECU connectors & software £80
Dec 09 - N/S Ball joint £20
Dec 09 - 2nd hand 1st injector £70
Dec 09 - Side repeater £5
Jan 10 - Oil change £20
Jan 10 MOT £50
Jan 10 - O/S ball joint £20
Feb 10 - battery £55
Mar 10 - Rear speakers & interior repairs £30

Plus LOADS of labour only repairs....windows, tailpipe, electrics etc.

The tailpipe on the LWB version is about 5m long and £150.

April 2010, the starter motor fell off. I bought a replacement (£70) but Paul put original back on and a couple of weeks later, it came off again, bolts had threaded. Repair was immense so we let it go. Sue was gutted.

I really like these but the moral is to get an unabused PETROL one. The VM is not at its best in them and the other diesels are badly underpowered.

...and remember to put it in 4WD when it snows mate, they are like a shopping trolley in snow in 2WD.

I do go off-roading with Paul from time to time and the SWB Fronteras are as good as anything (except the really modded stuff) in the rough terrain.

I heard on Radio 2 (yes I am that old) today that Siberian swans had been spotted in the UK today, 3 weeks early.

According to folklore, this means a particularly harsh winter.

Brad, if you're reading this next month and are passing by in your Fronty, I'll have about 300 parcels which need to go to the post office and I can't get over the bridge!

Minus 19 degrees, 24 inches of snow...one Frontera...no problem. VERY impressed. And comfy, too - just a bit noisy.

Had some good/bad weather then?

Nothing here to speak of since the other week.

Due to buying 2 Frontera V6 cars to replace this little 3 door frontera, it is up for sale.

It's a great car. Start price £500, no reserve.
