Lack of Forum Notificiations
For some time now, i've not been getting any notifications from the forum for subscribed topics, PMs etc and have checked my settings in the UCP and they are all ok.
Has/does anyone else have this problem? Or does anyone know of a fix for it?

Re: Lack of Forum Notificiations
Thanks for the response Richard - i know absolutely diddly-squat about software but i bet it's something simple but well hidden like a bit of code that says a zero instead of a letter "O" or something similar.
Hope James finds it soon!

Re: Lack of Forum Notificiations
If some people are able to receive emails but not others (I'm one of them) then there's a good chance that one of the websites on the same IP has been blacklisted, this can usually be overcome by adding the sending email address to your address book or sending an email to the address from your account, I know a few email providers (outlook.com being the worst) tend to delete emails from blacklisted IP's instead of putting them in the spam box.
Blacklisting doesn't always mean something has been abused, it can be as simple as having incorrect reverse lookup tabs.
On the other hand PHPMail can be a little picky on whether or not it wants to work, and is often picked up as forged email due to the methods used to create it.
The method of website email I tend to go with is by setting up an external email account with another provider, such as the free ones from Zoho, then configuring the software to send the emails via SMTP, this usually avoids any missing emails or ones marked as spam.
If you need any assistance, let me know.

Hi Simon, that would sound like a PHPMailer issue or incorrect SMTP settings, depending on which method is being used.Simon Hubbard wrote:Pretty sure no one is getting notifications Jim.

Re: Lack of Forum Notificiations
My visits to the site are less frequent as I don't get the reminders I used to....
I even changed my registered email account to no avail...
Is it just me?
