Re: time to say bye to the 25
£575 seems very fair to me. Those earlier 25s seemed to be a lot better made than the post 2002 models.

Anyone who's never had a K series will be wondering why you've put up a picture of the coolant tank
As someone who's owned a 1997 200 bubble for the past 11 years I can vouch for them as being massively under-rated as daily drivers.

Re: time to say bye to the 25
I've had a couple of K-Series engined cars, I don't think they are as un-reliable as many seem to make out. I found them quite reasonably powered for the engine size too:D
Those Serpentine alloys look quite nice on the 25, I had a set of those on my 45 Impression S2.
That said though I think £575 is a good price for what looks like a tidy and well looked after car.
Edit: I don't think they ever made a 1.2 K-Series, if memory serves me well it looks as though it's a 1.4

Re: time to say bye to the 25
thanks for comments, its a 1.4 with the restricted alloy throttle body. i do have the unrestricted throttle body that came with the replacement engine out of the 05 zr. i drove the 25 today and its a nice little runner, those 1.4s are quite nippy for the engine size.

Re: time to say bye to the 25
well that was quick, sold this afternoon no haggling on price either but i was a gent and knocked off £25 for the young lady after her father looked the car over and had a test drive. as my daughter had left the fuel quite low and they didnt try and knock the price down i let her have £25 off for fuel. everyone happy

That's good to hear that it was a quick sale without any hassle, it's always nice when that happens.

That's right, the 214 wedge I had was definitely a nippy car , although it's end of life was caused by gearbox issuesRichard Moss wrote:105bhp on the unrestricted version - certainly nippybren wrote:those 1.4s are quite nippy for the engine size.

Re: time to say bye to the 25
yes we had a couple of gearbox issues on our 214 sei wedges, other than that the were great cars with no head gasket problems. the first 214 a tahiti blue car had the larger alloy inlet manifold. other than a piper filter and longlife system it was standard but when i had it on the rolling road it was over 112bhp. that was a great car until the lady with a mk2 beetle decided to pull out blind from behind a disco mk2 and hit our little rover. end of that car.
