The vast majority of users were using the forum default - se_sprites (blue tones) - with a relatively small number using the others. Hopefully everyone has what they need and as they say in Blackadder II: "appalowgees for the inconweenience"

Simon was right (thanks) - Prosilver was the one I went for as the most similar to the old style.

Thanks for fixing it, Rich

Right, back to browsing the site, now I can see where everything is properly! :D

Well I'm around 14 stone so pretty big I guess!

It was a while ago and much of the work happened pretty late at night as I was trying to rebuild and update the forum at the time but I think I did ask for opinions on styles before the default was chosen and we also ran a test version of the forum on another link for a while to give people chance to comment.

As it goes personally I quite like the current default theme :D

I didn't know you could change it until I saw this thread - then I locked myself out. Thank you to whoever worked their magic and sorted it out for me! I wont go fiddling again, promise!

Hi James,

Sorry just seen your reply.

I must apologise, my comment was meant to be rhetorical with no criticism intended of anyone. On re-reading I can see how it could be taken differently.

I am, as I am sure all others are, very grateful to you for all your work in keeping the site going, particularly in the wake of the spam bot attack that was suffered just before you rehosted it.

I guess my hackles are naturally raised when I sense external control being exerted over how I choose to view things on my PC in my home (as with the likes of yahoo mail etc). I know this was not the case here, and this is perhaps an example of why we shouldn't post too hastily, sometimes.

Thanks again,
Mark

Least I didn't "overcome the Chief Pilot" (sic) and lob into GVA this morning to claim asylum. Was right over there a couple of hours previously, wondering why the Egyptair at 4k below us hadn't said a word since Cairo (stalked byyy an Egyptiaaan...duh duh duh da da...)

Ah yes - the wonders of CPDLC

I've just heard this from someone at work. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-26222674
Swiss Police wrote:there was no risk at any time to crew or passengers, police said.

Really? No risk? With an Ethiopean Airways First Officer on the aeroplane with no grown-up sitting next to him?

Also, why hijack your own aeroplane and lay yourself open to 20 years in prison for "hostage taking" when you could just walk off the aeroplane at Rome without committing any offence? DOH!

Ah-ha! So that's why i've found it so difficult to read certain parts of the forum for a while! The contrast between the two blues used for background and text on the board index and headers/footers on the pages was minimal for me, possibly down to how i have my monitors set up but it was near impossible to read some words.
Could also be my eyesight as it has seemed much worse lately but as i've just found this thread, i had a play and went for "Sub-Silver" which ties in nicely with the silver-grey theme i have on my computers and Firefox.

Much, much better and i'm glad i found this thread and how to change things!
Cheers,
Dave
