why did brad sell all his 800s

another thing i thought about when I'm not thinking of what to do to the 827 next, is why did brad sell all his 800s?
fleet now includes
89 827 sterling auto saloon grey dead and gone
90 827 sli auto saloon pulsar silver
91 820 i special edition flaming hell red
99 820 vitesse turbo sport manual nightfire rust sold to a better owner than i

A few reasons I suspect, though I think a lot of it was that he fancied a change. As I did when I sold up around the same time.

Pass, maybe he needed a change of hobby completely?

I've only kept a daily (Mondeo) and a backup (406), everything else went.

He did keep dropping health hints though?

Plus with the financial climate changing maybe they were factors too?

Who knows! :-)

Change of scenery would be my guess as that's what most folks seem to do regardless of the car/s in question.

I'm looking at buying an XKR when I'm 25 and selling all my 800s and spares.

Why?

I have been driving 800s daily for the last 6 1/2 years, in fact even earlier if you count me steering while sat on TheOldMan's lap in ~1998 ;-)

I'm bored!
I'm fed up of muscling the 800 around roundabouts and corners that a modern shopping trolley whizzes round with ease.
I'm also fed up with tinkering in the sense for a daily driver I want reliability and consistency. I still want a second vehicle (toy) to tinker with but it wouldn't be my daily and it wouldn't be an 800 ;-)

I remember his signature line changing initially to "No longer an 800 owner" with things like the Vel Satis still listed below then a short time later they disappeared too and his signature line changed to "No longer a car owner" and that was about the time he mentioned health problems.

I too remember him mentioning his health. I suppose we all change things due to circumstances in our lives. At least the knowledge is still there though.
I've always had the intention of dropping by to see him if I ever get to Worcestershire.
I think Mal keeps in touch with him.

dusan what do you mean when your 25, how old are you?, i had a weird idea you were in your late 40s
