Someone once asked...

How old I am.

Well I'm 23 now, born July '92.

As for how long I've been "driving" 800's - that's a different story!

It was the day after my 17th birthday that TheOldMan took me for my first lesson on a quiet industrial estate in NOJ his 820 Sterling 8)

But Waaaay back in what looks like 1998/9 I was behind the wheel of an 800 "Granny Grazing"

My brothers were old enough to reach the pedals - I wasn't

According to TheOldMan I was 18 HOURS old when I was first in that 800 - He picked up Mom and I from Hospital in it.

J686 RFX was the registration number. VERY early Mk2 1991 820i Manual saloon in Midnight Blue.

The joke was SUPPOSED to be that I learned to drive in the same car that picked me up from Hospital in. Unfortunately due to a long and windy set of circumstances that didn't happen. Though TheOldMan did say that he would have gone far beyond economical repair to keep that car on the road. :D

Hope this gave you a smile!

Out of curiosity, what date in July Dusan? I had a few strange things happen to me in that month/year, just wondering if any of the dates coincide.

His name is Dusan, not Damien, so I doubt there is any connection with the dates

Is it wrong I occasionally take perverse pleasure in making others feel their age? ;-)

Shaddap!

I blame switching between my phone and PC. Both have autocorrect (or autocowrecks as I like to to refer to them).

Neither work the same and on the phone the on board spell check fights the spell checker in Chrome!

I can spell, honest guv'nor

Your spelling is normally exemplary mate, that's why i couldn't resist!  Especially as (i think) i'm the oldest participant of this thread (at the moment anyway) and having woken up a year older a week ago, i'm definitely feeling it!

I know exactly what you mean about unpredictable text as i call it and as for Smell-Check, i've turned it off on my PCs as it keeps auto-correcting to the US spellings despite me changing all the settings to UK/GB English. None of them work out when you've written something totally nonsensical as long as it's spelled right, whether that's En-GB or En-US.
