CHris, it is good to know that you find Windows 10 almost as easy to use as XP. I tried Windows 7 and did not like it at all, hence why I returned to XP.
I had been thinking along the lines of getting a laptop, will look into that more.
Rescuing old DVD's and C/D's.

It was me that said Win10 is as easy as XP Nick but Chris did say he found Win10 easy to use as well.
Laptops are good for what they are but i prefer desktops - i think it's down to what you're used to. Maybe before buying a laptop you could borrow one from someone to see how you get on with it?

Re: Rescuing old DVD's and C/D's.
I had occasion this week to go to Plymouth and Exeter and while in Exeter, I was able to locate a second hand LG DVD drive of the same model that I used to create my DVD;s and CD;d. The upshot is that only one of my 36 DVD;s now refuses to play. It seems that the old DVD drive, which was a Panasonic, would only replay disks that it had created for some reason. I have now recovered nearly all of my files so I am a happy bunny again.
