Likely do have Ricky, but been mega busy of late the poor girl has been set aside for a few days.

One update though:
I have had a further message from the late owners son, as to it's history.

Malcolm, I have found the Logbook and service record, and will post them on to you.
The early history of the car is now clearer from the documents.* It was first registered (presumably as a demonstrator) in February 1985; my father bought it three months later in May 1985.

So one owner plus demonstrator.

Work has delayed the rear brake refurb, but that shouldn't take too long to do once I get round to them.

I will put it in for a test as previously mentioned, but it will fail due to drivers rear sill end.

It should give a good indicator as to what is needed to be done for the next owner.

History confirmed.

The price for a 3 month old Montego 1.6L in 1985 was 5199.00 including Road Tax!.

Thats good news Mal.
Its good to have a history with a vehicle. Makes it that bit more interesting and desirable.
