Nice. Do the NZ Assembled cars have a better build quality and less rot than the UK assembled ones

Unless it has Nivomat dampers for self levelling.Marmitemania wrote:looks as if the white one could use some spring assiters when towing, those SD1's are heavy old beasts aren't they.

Thanks for the comments.
I think the main reason cars may last longer over here is mainly because we do not put salt on our roads.
South Island cars are generally better than north Island ones......more humidity up north!!
The P6B is for sale, I like it but it is too small for me inside. I am 6 ft and somewhat of the larger build.......not the tie and bowler hat 5 foot 5 English Doctor/Banker/Accountant type
The NZ Red SD1 is in average condition.....the paint is stuffed!! But is mechanically ok.
The SD1 VDP on the trailer is as it was bought. Is running well, just needs cosmetic fixups and a new front screen now. NO Rust!!
The white SD1 does not have self levellers anymore, and unfortunately we had the car on the trailer a bit too far forward.....If we had moved it back about 2 feet on the trailer the front car would have sat fine.
My Tourer is a good car.......has only cost me a new set of rear discs and pads in the 3 years I have owned it.

I am lucky, I have a fully enclosed rear section, plus you can only see about 1 1/2 cars in the drive. I had a new double garage with atatched workshop built, and still have the parking area where my double carport used to be.....so most are in those areas. Still have lawns to mow on the rear section though, and no, there are no cars on the rear lawn!!!! My section is about 741 m2, so is a reasonable size for a city section.
