Nice find, although I could never own one. I prefer the far eastern competition!

Rumour has it Nissan started their car building career by building under licence........................................

Austin A40s!!

So the Metro and Micra are very nearly kissing cousins!! Scary, ain't it? If i'm not mistaken that year Micra could have either the E series OHC engine or the A series OHV engine and yes, both designations look extremely similar to their BLMC namesakes!! One of the reasons i've always felt my thoughts of fitting an L24E Nissan engine in a Triumph 2000 weren't horrendously impure!!

Dave

I went to collect this today (with Simon Hubbard along to help) only to find that the seller had misplaced the keys. He's now going to deliver it - much easier.

Did it look as good as you'd expected, no surprises?

PITA to waste your time like that though.

It's OK. The paint is very flat, it's rather scruffy looking but remarkably rust free. It mostly needs some elbow grease and it time spending on it and then it has the potential to be really nice.

A quick spray of one wing and door, plus a little on the tailgate and a good cut and polish will make all the difference.

Do apprentices still get sent to the stores for a tin of elbow grease? Come to think of it, do apprentices still exist?

On a more serious note, glad it lived up to expectations Rich!! Let's hope he finds the keys soon and doesn't deliver it minus the steering lock and a window!!

Dave
