Ooops! I did it again (22k miles R100): now Rich M's car!
Believed to be from a deceased estate (but not confirmed) local yard deemed it too good to scrap.
It has a genuine 22,700 miles, and service book to prove.
2 Faults known so far.
Signs of being parked up for long periods , there is a couple of holes in the edge of the scuttle recess where the bonnet close's.
Drivers seat base the stitching has come undone.
MOT booked for Weds, If all goes well at the testing centre it will be available for a new home.

Hi Mal that looks great i have a soft spot for the metros/100 series.
My first car that i actually was able to drive on the road was a white 5 door 1.4 si. I actually miss that car sometimes. Can i ask what the economy is like on a metro as my vitesse is dire over here so i might get a cheap metro/100 and drive that. Thanks Thomas

According to the "Book" when new the figures were as below:
Rover 100 1.1 K series (8valve)
Fuel Consumption (urban) 40.3 mpg
Fuel consumption (extra urban) 61.7 mpg
Fuel consumption (combined) 44.2 mpg
As this one is the 8 valve and only having 22,700 on the clock, I would say it's likely to still be the same.

I'm beginning to get the impression that Mal has started a one man crusade to save every Metro and all derivatives from the breakers. Fair play to you, Mal. Hopefully you enjoy playing with your new cars. Should at least keep you busy for a while
All the best

I'm pleased to say that, barring any last minute hitches, this car will soon be mine. The long term plan is for it to be a first car for my eldest daughter - she's only 15 now but two years soon passes!
I'm not sure what we'll do with it until then.

Thanks Richard.
It will be a great learner car for her, as well as last her a good while as a first car.
The last Roverised Metro's are a far cry from the basic "shopping trolley" the Mk1's were.
They are a good investment and very nippy little cars.
And at the moment can be had for a good price.
Having a club behind them, can only make people more aware of just how good they can be, and will in time only increase in price for good examples.
