Renault Day at Silverstone 2009
I have been to this for the past couple of years and it's a good day out, plus it's free.

I think it is, that's going to divide up the group! unless some people go to one on either day.CHR15E wrote:That's the weekend of cars in the park isn't it?
AFAIK I'm planning on spending the full weekend at CITP, so won't go to this. Unless of course circumstances change.

I personally wouldn't camp at silverstone (is it available? i know it was at Donington) if you did plan to do so as it would probably be a lot noisier than CITP.Richard C wrote:don't know which to do now
However with regards entertainment silverstone would probably be better.
Silverstone - pedal to the metal day
CITP - Club meet, relaxed, less of a speed freak day !
Queues will probably be worse for silverstone, but then there may be Renault promo girls
So to summarise the only thing missing at CITP is Promo girls, and a load of French scrap metal being caned (that's not going to be missed) !
Can't you tell I just love french cars

I have never heard of this one before. Thanks Richard for the alert.
It’s unlikely I will be in attendance but its still good to know about. Ironic but I will be driving through Silverstone that weekend. Who knows you might even see me.(Another unlikely).
It looks like a great event. Top marks to Renault whom I assume organised it in making it a free event. Its not often you get something for nothing these days particularly in these troubled times. I applaud them.
I noticed that the MG car club are holding their annual event at Silverstone on the 10, 11 and 12thJuly. The tickets are £15 per member per day (weekend ticket available) £20 non members and I think its £25 on the gate. I know one thing for sure I will not be attending.
As I believe Tommy Cooper once said "It's not the principle it’s the money".
Again delving deeper into the pot one event I would recommend attending even if you only ever go once in your life and that is the Goodwood Festival of Speed. A day ticket is £48(weekend tickets available. if you are of a nervous disposition look away now-£103). It’s on this year the 3rd, 4 and 5th July. It’s not cheap but I would say it’s worth every single penny and cheap at half the price (and that’s saying something coming from a Yorkshire man). If I had once criticism that would be the day was not long enough (I don’t mean the opening hours were short far from it) .There is so much to see and do and it all seems to happen at once .Marvellous.
Some great pictures Jono.

That was the problem at the Renault day at Donnington, wasn't it? That and the cost of food and drink.Richard C wrote:I am toying with not going as the crowds are horrendous,
