Unfortunately much as i would like to go i wont be able to make it this year.
For those who do attend im sure you wont be disappointed as its a show that caters for the whole family. Last time i went there was the Utterley Buttery wing walking display, A motor cycle display team . a jet powered car which gave a demonstation (quite entertaining and very noisey) and various other events a small fair and a good selection of all sorts of cars particularly a good display of american cars.

Much as i would love to go this year, not just to see the automotive legends etc but Romsey is actually my birth town, i just can't!! Sadly my beast is still of the road and even without it, the cost (trains etc) would be prohibitive! (this year anyway!)
Can i make a suggestion to one and all that we "adopt" this as a club event and make next year the first proper outing? This way we could get all the details months in advance giving everyone a chance to plan (and save!) for a great weekend away! We could also book a club stand and maybe have a club "bash" on the Saturday night e.g. disco/karaoke/party/generally just get lashed and listen to music and tales of Rover type exploits! This is only a general idea and totally open to comment, criticism (preferably constructive!) and suggestions. Hopefully i speak for the others who haven't as yet commented on this post, my apologies if i'm wrong!! Let's make it a thrash to remember!!!

I've had a voicemail left for me saying that they're already full so we can't have a club stand. Not sure on individual spaces as I haven't spoken to them personally.

I know I'm little late to the party but would like to try and make this is people are still planning to go? F455 is having some surgery to the roof/sunroof/headlining area at the moment so it won't be pretty but it would be nice to meet some of you guys.

I plan to ring them tomorrow and see what's what. If camping is available I'll most likely still go.

If it isn't it'll be too far for a day out.

Gotta agree with both of you. Think we must co-ordinate this a bit better next year and get our act together (no disrespect to Chris, he has done his best at short notice). Perhaps we could have regional reps (SE, SW, East Mids, NE and so on), as it were, to post upcoming events and deal with the organisers. Just a suggestion. At least as soon as an event is posted we could then organise a list of attendees and book a club stand and camping etc

Thanks for volunteering for SE regional rep Brian, lol!! Joking aside, i think the idea of regional reps is a great idea, we could have regional meets, say once a month (there's one in my area organised by a member who is in the All Rover Club & this one) and maybe a 3 or 6 monthly club meet and things like the HPOM could become a club event?
Maybe others, such as the Goodwood festival of speed (it's silly o'clock in the morning, only one i can think of!) and any similar in different parts of the country could become club events too?
Not that i'm suggesting we hijack every other automotive event in the country and claim it as a Rover 800 club event, just that we could maybe attend as a club.

Being early is the key I guess.

I didn't even know the show existed till a few weeks ago so that's probably already too late.

I've decided I'm not going now.
