What "class" we put down? There are none for post 1988 cars and I'm not that bothered about having mine "judged" anyway.

Club stand? Yes or No?

Simon, have you explained to the organisers that our cars are too modern and if so, what did they say? If they can't be entered in any classes for judging, can we still get car/driver etc in for £2.50?
I have sent a message asking what class we should put down and to check the price is still the same.

I will let you know what they say.

Say yes to a club stand so we are put together. There are always post 1988 cars at these events so i dont see any problem, also when i spoke to them before they said it was fine.

Thanks Simon. I finally got the form to print using Internet Explorer rather than my usual Firefox.

I wonder if that was the issue when i was trying to get a weblink for the form?

I usually use firefox too, i also have ie8, that seems really bad, loads of error messages saying that there are things that could make it crash.

IE8 has an icon up by the address bar to put it into "compatibility mode" - in other words, Microsoft are saying that it doesn't work well with many websites (somewhat defeating the point of a web browser, wouldn't you say?). We're stuck with IE8 at work but I've kept my home PCs on IE7.

I normally use firefox, but sometimes i have to check it looks ok on IE, i wish i had not downloaded IE8 and had left 7 alone as it worked fine.

I received this from the show organisers this evening...

Hi Simon

You do not state what year the vehicles are but assuming they are 1980's onwards they will fall into Class O. Yes entry fees of £2.50 per vehicle is applicable.

I look forward to receiving completed entry forms as soon as possible. Entires for this event are likely to close at least 14 days before the event.

Regards

I guess that means we will have to get the entry forms in this week.

Tempted, but round trip of 5 hours in one day is probably a bit much.

Shame really. I took my daughter to have a look around Hartpury college near Gloucester and had to hire a Corsa (not a bad little car really) but that was about a 5hr round trip too.
Are you really sure it's too far ? You will get a rest between drives as you're not allowed to leave before 4:00 pm if you're exhibiting or on a club stand.

I have a lower income this year too. It's a non-essential trip that I can't justify at the moment. Besides, even if I could afford it, I'd rather spend it on something for the car - Not that I plow every penny I have into it, but I do spend too much on it

Hartpury College?, what was your daughter interested in studying?. Have no knowledge of it till you mentioned it but it looks like a farming/agricultural/equine type college?

Yep, equine studies but she's decided she doesn't want to go now (well, perhaps in the future she might). She's spent two years getting excellent marks in her foundation course and was guaranteed a place.
She's opted to get a job ( she doesn't half pick the wrong timing for that one but it's up to her).
I must say as colleges go the facilities are brilliant with a large vet's surgery, laboratories, hydrotherpay pools, running (or should that be trotting) machines and a rather splendid indoor arena.
