Possible cornish meeting - late May 2009

ok i thought i might try this out on you lot. who would be interested in a meet up in Cornwall the early part of 2009? The format would be along the lines of Friday travel down day informal pint and get together, Saturday an organised drive through some stunning roads round this part of the world then maybe an afternoon at the Eden project with some Ice skating if we do it early enough, Saturday night more of an organised meal and drink, Sunday you can go home. If we time it right you can stay in the travel lodge in St.Austell for Â£19 per room per night but i think the premier inn is a nicer place to stay with a pub and restaurant next door.

if we go for the last weekend in may(30/31st) the ice skating is well and truly finished we'll also miss the Run to the Sun event which is on the bank holiday the weekend before. Though I will say this the roads become a little more clogged around the end of may, but as we are a democracy i'm happy to go with the majority. If no one fussed about Eden I can make the drive a bit longer on Saturday with a stop at a pasty shop for lunch? but if you're bringing families then i was thinking of trying to make things a bit more varied for everyone.

We're arriving the 29th in Cadgwith so this date is perfect. I always go that week and the clogged roads are not that bad as long as you don't get stuck in Polperro. (don't ask)

Some other nice things are Goonhilly Downs Sattelite station, nice drive on the Roseland peninsula, Men-an-Tol stonecircle for the ones with a bad back.-lol-

Golitha falls, all around St.Just etc but there are many a place you won't know with spectacular coastal views most of it right on my door step. Ok so last weekend in May if i can get a good idea of how many within the next month i will work on discounts for a B&B. The cheapest room rate for travel lodge is Â£29 per room per night, other option is try some of the caravan parks and see if you can get a discount. I'm happy to organise most of this but experience tells me to leave accomodation to you guys though if you want an evening meet up it pays to try and book the same place preferably with a pub next door.
