PARIS meet up September 2013 (not April)?

I have been discussing with Karsten (RC827) on this Forum the idea of driving down the Champs Elysees in a convoy of 800s next Spring - that's 2013, not 2012. Plenty of time to save.

I can organise a free venue where we can safely park up before and after our 'tour' and arrange a guide if necessary. I just need to reserve her time soon as she gets work booked up as much as a year in advance.

Organise your own accomodation - hotel, motel, Holiday Inn...

I suggest the Channel Tunnel as the best route across to Calais, too.

Anyone keen?

Blimey, and here I am trying to decide what to do at the weekend.

Seriously though it sounds interesting but I couldn't commit this far away.

You don't need to commit. No one needs to promise anything or pay any money or "get their name down quick" as it will be funded by individuals who want to go when they go. I just wanted to know what people thought. Bad, good, maybe?

I can sort the car parking for free near to the Arc de Triomphe for about 12 cars - I don't expect there to be more than that. The guide will be free - someone to sit in the lead car and direct the way - someone I have known a long time and who has lived there most of her adult life.

What else you spend yourselves is up to each individual. Hotels outside Paris in towns as lovely as Versailles, a town with almost zero crime, are notably cheaper than staying in Paris itself. It beats meeting on the M40 Services, suffering bacon baps at Â£4 a throw and a short drive to Gaydon where the landscape is bleak and we've "done it all before".

I just thought that with such a comparitively expensive trip (petrol and accomodation alone) a good year's notice might be wise.

You can tell I am keen. But Paris is a regular favourite of mine, as you know.

Got to confess, last drive back from Morzine, I took a detour, and did all the major sights in Paris in about 1.5 hours. Was in a Galaxy though.

@Brad: I am impressed, how can you get free and safe parkings near the Arc de Triomphe for 12 cars?? Whoever knows that area, can imagine why iÂ´m impressed...

So i will keep waiting with the respray of my bumpers as i stripped them down to the black plastic (corresponding better to my lazy way of parking...or just call ist the parisian way of parking
