Re: Rover vitesse wanted
There is a dodge with a 1200 ohm resistor if it's a wheel sensor although new ones are only £30 on ebay for the fronts. Back ones are harder to find though but don't often go thankfully.

Re: Rover vitesse wanted
I put money on that the bracket holding the sensor is the problem.
So if you do buy a new one make sure the bracket is with it and/or make sure yours is ok if have to refit it in it.

Re: Rover vitesse wanted
You're probably right Chris. The new ones don't come with brackets and it's best to phone the seller as they are in fact for 400 models and there's something odd about the handing on them. But they fit and work and are brand new.CHR15E wrote:I put money on that the bracket holding the sensor is the problem.

The other bonus of phoning up is you can pay by card over the phone and negotiate a discount for buying two without going through ebay - no sellers or Paypal fees for Best of British (the seller) to pay so you get a bit of a saving too.
What i did was using various tools including a drill, blow torch and die grinder/polisher was to remove the old sensor by brute force and enlarge the sensor hole in the bracket very slightly and polish it to a high finish :
I then smeared Vaseline round the body of the sensor to prevent water getting between it and the bracket and fitted it. So far so good!

Re: Rover vitesse wanted
This might be a shock to a few but my mk1 vitesse will be for sale SOON but not yet.Im still enjoying owning it and driving it but the time will come when the abs light is fixed and I'm ready to move on to pastures new.Im thinking of doing another xjs race car so will need the space one.Im just letting the word spread first so if someone is thinking of a mk1 vitesse they won't miss out.Its a wonderful example and has been very well cared for in its life.Sorry it won't be cheap at around £2800 but if I fail to fix the abs light the price is more flexable
