It seems the Triumph marque might be on it's way back. If it will be on a car, will it be appropriate I wonder?

So, the TR range sold in "bigger numbers in the US market than the MGB"? Really? Bollocks!!

Using figures supplied by the MGOC and the TR Register we get:
MGB - introduced in 1962 and sold over half a million cars worldwide up to 1980 (512,000). approximately 50% of those sales were exports (250,000).
TR4 introduced in 1961, replaced by TR5, 6, 7 and 8 . Total export sales up to 1982 approximately 221,000. Add domestic sales and you still only get 261,134.

So, the single model MGB outsold the whole TR4-8 range during a 2 year shorter sales life, both home and abroad! Even if you include the TR2 and 3 right back to 1953 the MGB leaves them dead for sales.

I also like the suggestion that BMW might have re-registered the logo to use on Christmas Trees or stuff other than cars. I just know there'll be a huge market for Triumph badged golfing umbrellas and luggage.

I prefer TR's to MG's actually. Another case of BMW milking the British car scene!
