To answer your second post first Adrian - best get posting then!
Now for the serious bit - go through ebay looking for Vitesse spares, starting with an engine & gearbox.
That's worth £600 alone for the pair together.
Then there's the anti-roll bars, wheels, suspension (springs and shocks if they're genuine Vitesse or correct replacements), tailgate and spoiler (i know of a spoiler that sold recently for £60), wings, doors - the list goes on.
I know you don't want to break it and from the nature of your posts don't have room to do that either but surely when you can realise well over £2k in parts alone letting the car go complete for £600 is ridiculous!
Not to mention things like the ECU/CCU/Fob receiver/fob combo, lock set (if they're keyed-alike), light units - it all adds up!
A £99 start on ebay would be a good way to sell but as you rightly say, many people haven't realised the proper value of 800s yet and there are a lot of speculators out there that will buy the car cheap simply to put it in a shed and then sell it later and others who will buy it simply to break.
Reserves do put people off it's true but that might be a good way to prevent yourself from being shafted on price.

I'd happily break it if I thought there was a realistic chance I'd be done breaking it by Christmas.
The trouble is, I'd be hanging on, waiting for the remaining 180-200 owners (less, more probably) of late model Vitesses to need the respective bits from it.
I've not seen anyone pay £600 for engines and gearboxes for many, many years. I think I'd be lucky to get £250 for them, and that's after I'd been the sucker who pulled the thing out of the shell.
I feel like I'm being proper negative about it, when really I'd love to be selling the car whole for £1800 (I'm not greedy) or parting it out for £2500!
But I do appreciate the comments, I honestly do. When I've got my wheels back (this week hopefully!), perhaps I'll have a proper swing at writing up an eBay advert with better photos, a more comprehensive write-up, and a new four-figure price

Not at all lol, the seller said I could have them for £235 if they don't sell. This is without the tyres as I said 50s aren't low enough profile for me. I'd say that's fair enough, I also missed out on a brand new set of Rotas last night by £5 on eBay, was a little gutted. No, I haven't sold it. I've totally taken my foot off the gas with this! It's entirely down to my reluctance to sell it, despite the fact I've driven it a total of 10 miles since its MOT.
