Wheel nuts, washer type
Hi guys. I’m looking for a couple of good wheel nuts for my 800s. The ones I’m after are the ones with stainless/chrome cap and loose thrust washer.
The caps need to be good and true so the lug wrench fits. (A number of mine are distorted or missing.)
I don’t need a full set of 16 so open to offers etc. What have you got? Locking nuts not needed.
Cheers!

Henrik - just to confirm which ones, is this the sort you're after?
https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RRD10006
I've got some around but i'd have to check on the condition, i've replaced a lot of mine with full sets from Amazon/ebay. If you have a scrapyard anywhere near you with some Hondas in, a lot of them use the same nuts.
If all else fails :
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FQHJW06
Look lovely, bright and shiny for the first few months, after that they tarnish quite quickly so i bought a set of these to go over them :
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OZPAKOC
Depends how much you want to stick to original wheel nuts. At nearly £10 per nut from Rimmers for the genuine article plus postage etc, for the cost of three new ones from Rimmers you could have a set of 16 plus a set of chrome covers for about £24 plus postage to Sweden. Not sure how those prices transfer into Euros or Krona but the principle will be the same whether it's £ or Krona.

Yes the ones from Rimmer are correct Dave.
I had a quote from Rimmer but lets not discuss that any more...
I really want the ones with loose washer rather than the solid ones. Solid ones are also easily obtained here aswell for pennies.

Re: Wheel nuts, washer type
I know i've got a few Henrik, i'm planning on getting a new set of solid ones for my Sterling soon so if you can wait a week or two, i'll go through the nuts that come off it and find the best ones.
How many do you actually need?

Thanks Dave. Not sure and depending on how much gold you claim them to be made of.
But I think 10 would be really good.
Or maybe I’m thinking wrong? Is the cap available and could they be swapped..? Hmm. I need to look into it.

Re: Wheel nuts, washer type
I'm not sure if there will be 10 good ones Henrik but i'll see. Made of gold you think? Hmmm, not sure! Stainless steel for the caps but it's thin and easily deformed with impact wrenches! That of course is what causes 99% of the problems in the first place!
I think i have a couple of others somewhere as well, i did keep 2 in my Volvo toolkit for a while in case i ever needed a couple of spare nuts (some idiot had forced some Jeep Cherokee nuts onto the Volvo studs! ) but after fitting the correct size nuts i haven't had a problem.
The stainless caps aren't available separately, i'm not sure how they are fitted but would imagine it takes some considerable force so it's probably not a DIY proposition to fit them yourself.

Re: Wheel nuts, washer type
Pity about the caps. A few of mine have lost the caps, making the nut holllw and 18mm. The cap should be able to press into place really. Still, if theyre not available it doesnt really matter!
Thanks again Dave!

Re: Wheel nuts, washer type
Pretty unusual to loose caps Henrik - i've seen a few, probably about 5 or 6 total but most are chewed so badly by impact wenches that they are rendered unusable.
At least missing a cap they can be used with an 18mm socket but it's a nuisance having to carry two sockets!

Re: Wheel nuts, washer type
Hi Henrik - just before the MoT on friday, i check tightened all my wheel nuts on my Sterling (potential donor of your replacement wheel nuts) and at least 10 of them were good in as much as the scoket went striaght on and off with no problems.
They may need polishing up with some metal polish to make them shiny but there's at least 10 mechanically good ones there.
If you're still after some let me know and i'll sort my solid replacements and arrange the painful bits via PM with you.
