NEC Motor Show 1991
Well I think it was 1991 (could of been 92, but I suspect these were the launch versions - I'm sure someone can correct me if I'm wrong)
Anyway I took my camera with me and managed to take these three rovers.
1st the Rover 200 Coupe...
Then the Rover 200 Convertible (hanging!)...
Number plate reads 'LIBERTY', not sure why.
And lastly, the New Rover 800 Coupe Sterling (alas I couldn't get back far enough to get it all in, due to the crowds round it!)
Hope you like them, only just remembered that I still had them.

Nice pictures and thanks for sharing them with us. I remember seeing the cars on display now i see your pictures but couldnt have recaaled what was on display without them.
The Rover converible i had forgotten all about that until you mentioned it.
It was a limited edition model . I may even have a brouchure in my collection. I cant recall ever seeing any others on the road. That said in the North they were not likely to sell many.
It was called the liberty after the famous Liberty shop in London and if memory serves me right the seat featrued peacockls in their design.
I quite liked it and its special colour. It was different.
Wonder if any still exist?
The motor show at the NEC would have been 1992. It started there in 1978 and was held every 2 years.

I've got some more of other stuff taken at the same show, Ferraris, TVR's, McLaren F1, Jag XJ220 etc, plus some speciality stuff.rich1988 wrote:Love pictures like this got any more?
There's not many, as I remember I wasn't feeling very well that day at all. If they would be of interest to anyone I'll gladly scan them all and post them up.

OK, here we go,
A couple of the Jag XJ220.....
The McLaren F1...
Ferrari 348...
And Ferrari 512...
A couple of TVR's...
A Viper...
And an un-known???.... (An AC possibly?)
Now for the 'Specials',
James Bonds Aston Martin V8 Vantage...
And his DB5 (with Lady Penelope's Roller in the background) ...
Noddy's car...
And finally the worlds longest stretched limo (well at least at the time anyway)
And yes it is bowed in the middle

Wow! That Limo really brought back some memories!!!! I was at the NEC motor show with my Dad back in 1991. I would have been about 6 or 7 at the time. I remember getting into the back of a new mk2 Gold Sterling 4-door, and I remember being a bit dissapointed that it didnt have rear electric seats. But it was very nice and ambient with those light-coloured leather seats.
Thanks for sharing.
