just spent all morning fitting a drivers seat in the passenger side, so now have full adjustments on both seats Very Happy Very Happy
good job i work in a garage, as the base mounts are differant, so using the pair of seats i bought from greengingers i cut the bolt mounts from both seats and welded the passengers mounts onto the base of the drivers base, next was to take the back rest of both seats and fit the passenger one onto the drivers base ( the back rests have differant handles, one on the drivers, two on the passengers ), next was to wire them up, the pair i got from greengingers was a mk1 set and my coupe is a mk2, Confused , with a bit of cutting and replacing of plugs ""voila "" a lot of work for someone else to use Sad ,

Nice bit of modding.
I take it you couldn't find a seat from a Sterling or Vitesse that already had the electric passenger seat then? Are they hard to find then?

I would like full adjust on my Coupé pass seat. Will try to get a drivers seat and ahve a fiddle.....

Was also thinking of trying to fit the seat switches in the door, AKA Mercedes Style.......

the coupe passenger seat does have electrics just not the full adjustment the drivers side has, it only has forward/back and back tilt, where as the drivers has base tilt as well.
had not tought of door controls for the seats. Surprised

I don't have electric adjustment at all on the Recaros in my fastback. Don't miss it TBH.

Do you find the height adjustment makes a difference?

Arr right I see where you're coming from now.
But can't see the point then, as most of that adjustment is so that you have a proper driving position, that the passenger would never need.
But saying that it's not a criticism of your work or methods, as it's always good to see people tinkering with ideas like this Wink

Far easier to use the passenger side base from a Mk1 sterling, as they had the full range of adjustment! (did this to my silver 827 coupé)

Did the same mod to my coupe passenger seat a couple of years back. Used a mk2 drivers base so connectors were same. A necessary mod used everyday with kids and adults sitting in the front.

I admire your skill and ingenuity, Mike. And patience

There are some clever folks on this forum, aren't there?

I must admit, some posts go right over my head (and that's quite a way up) and I could never see myself tackling what some of you do.

Have been off the "air" for some time due to complete computer failure so I'm more than a little late adding my comments.
Referring to the seat modification which was the original thread, I carried out a similar exercise over 2 years ago using a driver's seat from a left hand drive diesel.
I bought the seat in a "scrappy" in France and stripped off all the unnecessary trim before bringing it back to U.K.
Trim and padding from the original passenger's seat was fitted and an outer valance (grey) including switches purchased off a guy on fleabay.
(I have a pass. side valance in stone beige if anyone is interested!!)
My short arsed sister in law is now able to see over the dash thanks to the seat height adjustment not normally available on passenger's seats.
When my Bro sells his 820 I hope to recover the seat for my Sterling coupé.
Cheers, David.
