As long as the cat works there's nothing to worry about. I had one with a loose matrix in side - it rattled a bit but still did the job.

should pass easily, as just done a lot of work on it, top&bottom ball joints, steering joints, o/s front wheel bearing, front&rear discs&pads, 2 front tyres, full service, rear exhaust box and it's first clean this year Very Happy , also i'm motting it Cool Very Happy

Joiking aside are there any rules etc that say you shouldn't MOT your own vehicles? Just curious.

thers no rules about not motting your own car, but the vosa inspector can retest any car they want, so you have to do it correctly, mine passed Very Happy but i put an advisory on the seat belt Shocked , as it had been trapped in the seat lock ( mines a coupe, so the seat folds ) and some marks in it.
the brakes and smoke test was easliy passed Very Happy with no rust or play in anything anyone would pass it Very Happy Cool .
if you look on your mot certificate theres no name of who owns it, so they don't know who owns it, Very Happy Very Happy
