I've never been brave enough to buy a Range Rover.
Out in the desert with a 1998 Grand Cherokee V8, 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4L and a 1997 Chevy Tahoe V8. Back home: 1969 MGC GT

Owned many a classic Range Rover, superb vehicles, although fuel consumption can be crippling, the V8 is the only version to have. Would have another tomorrow although most of the classics left have been abused and I wouldn't touch a P38 with a barge pole and the latest version is just too far removed from what a Range Rover should be.

The pneumatic suspension is problematic, too - many owners fit conventional springs (John Turner did to his).

I am a fan of P38's Only the Mustang and Isopon varieties though :wink:

Nail on the head Chris, makes 800 electrics look like the ultimate in reliability, and as Richard said problems with air suspension.
My last Classic was a 4.2 LSE with Brooklands body kit and air suspension, never gave me any problems in 2 years. The last of the Classics were akin to 800 Mk1C, bit of a test bed for the new model and iron out any problems. Failed!
